Hi! I’m Paige Lorin! I wanted to write up my first blog post introducing myself so you can get to know me a little better and my passion behind photography!
If you’ve explored my new website (Thanks to Riane Roberts! Its magical!) you probably saw some things that fill my heart; and if I could I’d probably have 50 more boxes filled with images of things that make me the happiest like iced coffee, or chips and salsa, or truly any Mexican food for that matter. But I think that might be a little over kill, so here we are.
I’m a wife & mama, sister, daughter, photographer, creative, blogger, former teacher, and whatever other hat I like to wear from day to day; but those are my main ones. I was an early childhood educator, and taught third grade for four years and absolutely loved it. When we were expecting our sweet little boy in April of 2020, I knew I wanted to be able to stay home with him. So I could watch him learn and grow and be there for all his firsts. So in February of 2020 I decided to leave my teaching job and become a full time mama and photographer! (Best decision ever!!)
I started photography has a hobby back in 2011. It was when I had just graduated high school and my boyfriend (now husband!) had bought me a camera for Christmas. It started with taking friends photos, had a few paying clients, and learned a lot. I kept doing photography as a side gig for many years while still holding my 9-5 jobs. After I graduated college at ASU for Early Childhood Education I became a teacher while still doing photography on the side. I had a burning passion for photography, but never looked at it as my main career because I just wasn’t sure what that would even look like to be honest.
Then in 2014 I became a coordinator for a local wedding videography company and my heart exploded. I knew this was what I was meant to do and being at weddings truly filled my heart. Everything about them is my absolute favorite. The couple hanging with their best friends laughing while getting ready, the first look (I always have the biggest smile on my face!), the ceremony & vows, to the end of the night dancing where I usually bust a few moves because music is my jam!
Fast forward to 2017 I moved from coordinator to videographer! I captured dozens of magical weddings with this company and it was a dream come true while also photographing weddings from time to time. I then started really exploring more into the photography side of weddings and my heart got even fuller. Is that possible?! I finally found my nitch. I loved video, but photography is where it’s at for me!
In 2019 I started second shooting weddings and my passion just kept growing and now we’re here! Full time wedding & portrait photographer and I couldn’t be happier. Capturing your wedding day is such a joy for me. I love the little details that help build the story of your wedding day, the little in between moments, the posed portraits that your parents and grandparents will proudly display in their home, and the intimate portraits that you’ll display in yours. Everything that makes up your wedding day is important to me.
I am a big believer in capturing the big & little moments in our lives. They freeze time and allow you to reflect back on where you’ve come from, allow you to feel those emotions again, allow you to be in that moment again. That is why I love photography. From our engagements, to my bridal shower, our wedding, and first home. We celebrated our 1 year anniversary at Disneyland, found out we were pregnant there too, announced our biggest blessing, found out Baby T was a boy! Celebrated his future arrival, his time in my belly, and finally him making his debut. All these moments, all these memories, frozen in time for us to look back at for years to come. For us to show our son when he gets older, the love that has surrounded him from the moment we found out he was coming!
I am forever grateful for these memories that have been captured by our favorite people Monique Hessler & Riane Roberts!
So that’s me & my passion behind the camera!
Xo,
Paige Lorin
