A Studio Maternity Session | Kate & Dakota

Give me all the studio maternity sessions please! I am obsessed with this precious studio maternity session we documented earlier this month for Kate and Dakota. These two are due with their precious little girl in the middle of Arizona’s hot summer. I rarely offer summer maternity sessions to my clients outdoors. In Arizona, some summer evenings can reach as high as 115 degrees. I never want to risk the healthy of mama or baby by being out in that heat! By offering an indoor studio session it allows mama, baby, and dad to be comfortable in an air conditioned environment. We still document this special time for your sweet family, but in the safety of cooler temperatures. Sunrise sessions are also another option in the summer, if waking up early is your thing.

Kate and Dakota gave me a simple reminder of that once in a lifetime love during their session together. The way they looked at each other, the way they interacted together, and the giggles they got out of one another. They truly married their best friend and it was such an honor documenting this special chapter of their love story. I think about the feelings I get while looking through their gallery and what a treasure these photographs will be to share with their daughter one day. What incredible and joyful images to reminisce on.

We shot in The Atrium Room of Studio House AZ. This studio is full of real plants, a faux greenery wall, the cutest green suede couch, a bed, and a cute little wicker chair! Everything you need to help add in variety to your clients gallery. It really was a dream shooting in here! I cannot wait to be back next month for another maternity session and my August mini sessions!
