An Orange Desert Sunset Engagement | Danielle & Adam

Danielle and Adam are probably some of the sweetest people I have ever met! I was on the hunt for an amazing, fun, and loving couple to model for me in an orange desert sunset engagement session. Danielle messaged me saying they were in and we started planning! Open desert, a white dress, and stunning bouquet were in the works.

To be honest sunset and the open desert can be so intimidating to me! Bright light, orange sunset, and that glow is seriously gorgeous but can be so challenging as a photographer! I wanted to do it though, and get out of my comfort zone to create some magic. This year has been all about that for me, getting out of my comfort zone.

With COVID and weddings being cancelled and postponed; and then sessions being rescheduled, it left my calendar very open. It was scary at first. I left my teaching job to pursue my photography business full time. I put in my resignation in February, right before this all happened.

Don’t get me wrong, I do not regret it one bit! It has not only allowed me to stay home with our son who was born in April (who also may have crashed this session!), but it has allowed me to continue to learn and grow. It has allowed me to become an even better photographer than I was before. I’ll never be done learning and growing as a photographer and that truly is the most beautiful thing about photography to me!

Okay, back to this gorgeous session!! (Oops!) Michelle with Cloud 9 Blooms created exactly what I was envisioning and added the perfect touch to our session. A stunning bouquet to match the beautiful Arizona summer sunsets we are so lucky to have in our state. If you’re looking for a wedding florist, or a “just because” florist she’s your girl! I am very much an advocate for bouquets at every session! So if you ever need help finding a florist, let your girl know!
