A Sunrise Family Maternity Session | The Smith Family

I had the honor of capturing the sweetest sunrise family maternity session with the Smith Family this summer! This amazing family found me through one of my good friends Jocelyn last year. Jocelyn and Brittney both had boys around the same time in 2020 and ended up being in a mom group together pre-pandemic.

Last Fall Brittney reached out about me capturing their family photos. I was so excited to meet her. Jocelyn had such sweet things to say about Brittney and her family. About a week before their session I had a family emergency which resulted in my (amazing) friend Riane shooting their session for me. I was incredibly sad to miss out on meeting them in person and capturing their family. Brittney was so kind, understanding, and completely trusted me and Riane with the change.

Riane stopped by my house that evening and delivered their photos to me so I could start editing. I immediately downloaded them and started tearing up as I was going through the last set of shots! Brittney’s family had not only shown up in the cutest outfit, they had an outfit change (love when my families do this!), and they were announcing their second baby was on the way! I immediately messaged Brittney about how excited I was for them!!

This secretly made me so sad that I missed out on being there for their family and that moment. I truly just love being a part of these sweet memories for my clients! We stayed in touch and as Brittney neared closer to her due date we were chatting on Instagram. Brittney shared with me that their second pregnancy was flying by and that she couldn’t believe she was only four weeks away from delivering their sweet baby girl. She shared that they hadn’t scheduled maternity photos yet and at this point thought it might be too late. We immediately started chatting dates and had a session planned within a week. We work fast!

Her sweet family, once again, showed up in the most perfect outfits ready for their session! I was so excited to finally meet them in person after all this time. AJ is the most loving husband and father, his joy he has with their little boy was incredibly to witness. Then the love and appreciation he showed for Brittney was truly heart melting. Brittney is so kind, full of light, and down to earth. Oh and did I mention gorgeous? I am so honored to have documented this special milestone for their family!
